The Review
I had requested a review from Pablopabla, and I like his review very much! Not only that I agree totally as to what he said, as I hardly make good use of this blog (guilty as charged), I like his constructive suggestions too. Frankly, I think he has been too nice to my blog, I was expecting something worse. LOL!
Here’s his review about this blog:
This is another one of the power-mothers in cyberspace. It looks like stay-at-home-mothers (SAHM) have now found a way to look after their kids at home whilst making some (or a lot!) of money through blogging.
Shoppingmum’s Home Office is a relatively new blog set up by an Ipoh lady. In fact, this is her 5th blog and she said she’s crazy in blogging lately. Can’t blame her because blogging can get kind of addictive, especially when you are making some money along the way.
On the blog, I like the template which she uses - clean and professional looking for a “home officeâ€. The advertisements are also kept to a reasonable amount and does not clutter up the main dish, which is the contents. So, it’s quite easy to focus on the contents whilst reading her blog (much easier compared to this blog, I guess! LOL!).
As far as the contents go, I guess most of it are sponsored stuffs and this may not appeal to regular readers. Neither will it appeal to advertisers as well and at the end of the day, it may backfire and cause a drop in ranking (eg. technorati, alexa, google and the like) and lack of traffic. I know because my personal blog was turning into a junkyard of sponsored posts that I got disgusted with it as well. So, a little strategizing may be required to ensure that this blog will increase in regular readership (thus enhancing traffic and ranking) and make it more appealing to high-paying advertisers. Perhaps, more non-sponsored posts be included and certain niche topics be discussed eg. how to set up a home office, what decisions need to be made, etc. Or perhaps, restricting the sponsored posts to products or services related to home office stuff.
What I would like to see as well, is perhaps a statement from Shoppingmum on what is this blog all about. I can’t find it in the About page except some description of who she is. I think it is important for blogs to have a “mission statement†so that readers (especially 1st timers) know what the blog is all about. A perusal of some successful high traffic blogs will show that the blogs have niche topics and there is always a statement about what the blog is all about.
Over to you Shoppingmum! ![]()

Hello shoppingmum,
I see you have another blog here. Can you link my new blog? I’ve listed this blog there. Only now I know that links are very important to achieve higher rankings. Thanks.
