Setting up A Tuition Centre (Part 3)
Let’s assume that you have got all your documents and your centre set up, what should you do next?
It’s time to start enrolling students as without them, you don’t have any income source. Firstly, you must do a market research on the other centres around yours and get informations on their fees, subjects taughts, number of classes per week for the same student, the duration of the class and the scope they would cover on their school work.
It’s very easy to be done, just call up as spy. LOL! Yes, just call up and ask. If they refuse to tell you, just let it be. Some will give you a full insight of their programs and you can use it as a reference when you are setting up your fee and courses. At the same time, if you manage to get their promotional brochures, keep copies of them as you can check out the pricing and also be updated about your competitors promotion plans, if any.
Then, you can start designing your brochures and banners to attract students and parents to your centre. If you can design it by yourself, you will save up a lot. I’ve got used to designing brochures, as long as I have the details and pictures. It’s really easy to be done, and even if you don’t design with software, the printing company will also help you out.
After start, you need to distribute the brochures out but bear in mind that the effectiveness depends a lot on the days and time they are being distributed out. Besides, you have to make sure that you get help from reliable distribution company because I came across one that placed my 5-10 sheets of brochures at the same house. So, you can imagine how much I’ve lost from 10K sheets of brochures.
At the same time, you can consider the successful rate is quite high if you have 10% of response from the number of sheets you have given out. It’s not really a high stat as comparing to newspapers advertisement or banners, but it’s worth trying out.
Besides that, quality teaching is important too. No point being able to attract lots of students and they can’t see anything good about your centre. A satisfied customer will only tell 3 person about their satisfaction, but an unsatisfied on will tell 10 persons! So, it’s all about quality teaching. If the teachers are great, without any P&A, the students will still come in.
