College Or Form Six?
Some of my friends’ children have just got their SPM results last month but not everyone has plan for their tertiary education yet. Some of them decided to go for foundation, A-lever or Form Six, but there are a few who decided to send the kids to college instead. To me, I prefer to go for the fastest and easiest way of getting a degree instead of studying hard in Form Six. That’s why I went straight to university after Form Five because my aim was to get a degree!
Most of my friends who graduated early started working earlier too, and most of them have great careers by now. One of them joined in a IT consulting firm once he’s graduated and he’s earning more than RM3500 as his first basic salary. That’s a lot of money to someone who’s just finished his tertiary education, you know? Moreover, he got better offers a few years later and he’s making more money now. If he’s willing to work in oversea, maybe he can try his luck by getting a job at Boston IT Outsourcing company huh? Who knows? He has years of experience now, and it’s going to be easier to get a better job.
Of course, I have friends who decided to study in Form Six because they couldn’t get into private college or university like me. Besides that, some of them wanted to be doctors so they needed to sit through the exams. I think those kids should have an idea of what they want in their lives before deciding on college or Form Six. But at the age of 17, not everyone knows what we want in our lives huh?
