Working in Bangkok is not that bad, if you can speak simple Thai. My Thai language hasn’t improved a lot as I hardly listen to the CD anymore. I could have do so at night, but I prefer to watch some Japanese series for chilling out rather than studying a foreign language! Besides that, I know my limitation. I can never really write in Thai, like the locals. Thus, most of my paperwork is done in English and later translated with someone’s help. That’s the only way now.

Speaking in Thai might be easy for farang, but not for writing. FIL has been here for more than 10 years but he still can’t read Thai! The most frustration part is reading the road signs which are not translated in English. Hubby and I got lost a few times when we took the wrong turning because we couldn’t read the signs.

So, I wonder how long will it take for hubby to read Thai. He’s more keen in learning than me.
