The thing I appreciate most about being able to watch TvByDirect is the assortment of foreign channels that I would otherwise never be exposed to. My latest viewing endeavor has led me to a chic Australian fashion show called Fashionista which is easily the most eccentric show on fashion that I have seen in my entire life. The show itself is a documentary style fashion show hosted by this crazy looking old lady named Lee Lin Chin. It’s on the SBS network and is usually broadcast on their Saturday late night line-up.

The entire show is built around Chin’s idea of what fashion is and her idea of fashion is incredibly bizarre. Supposedly she keeps up with the latest fashion trends and hairstyles, but it seems like she just finds the most out there fashions in the world and then mixes and matches them. She even wears different pairs of glasses to match her wardrobe. At any rate, the purpose of the show probably isn’t to make you laugh, but that’s pretty much all I end up doing along with the occasional statements of disbelief. Every Saturday night, my roommate and I love to get in our pajamas, microwave up some popcorn and enjoy Chin droll on about how marvelous the featured designs are. It’s truly one of those shows you’ll just love to hate.
