I should slow down in reading news. I’ve never been so tied up with news until the recent unfortunate events happened in Bangkok. I spent so much time following the updates online, I had minor headaches over hours of reading from my screen. I might need acne pills soon if I keep on reading like this!

I think normalcy is slowly restored but there is still a long way to go for economy and social recovery. I really hope that it’s a brighter future for Bangkok as this is my new home now.

Clash in Bangkok

The situation in Bangkok is pretty bad right now. It’s best to stay away from the city, and best still, just stay at home as potato couch munching some junks or smoking perdomo cigars. You don’t want to get yourself killed by live bullets right?

Frankly, I really hope that the troop can end the protest soon. The protesters have gone overboard with their protest, and it’s not peaceful anymore. I really hope that everything will be over soon.

Bombing in Bangkok

The situation in Bangkok is getting from bad to worse. Some people died and hurt by the bombing incident last night. It’s such a sad accident, involving civilians, whom have nothing to do with the protests.

That’s the thing I hate about Thailand, its politic is always a big joke to me. No matter which party wins, the other parties will protest and tear the ruling party down. These people seriously do not put their country’s name and economy in priority. Stupid.

I don’t want to waste my breathe blogging about the politic. I better spend my time working out on elliptical or making money from my biz.

Bangkok is in a mess now, and most motorists are advised to avoid certain roads and areas. Actually, the condition is not that bad, as long as you don’t get into these hot spots. It’s best to stay safe, unless you are keen to get yourself into trouble, and maybe find the amica auto insurance review useful to get your vehicle claim, if you ever get into any unwanted accident!

Being Less As An Expat

Being an expat in Bangkok means you have to pay more than the Thai at certain places, such as the admission fees to some tourist spots. Some times, you might even have to pay more if you are visiting the doctors, as English speaking doctors tend to charge a higher consultation fee. Frankly, if you can speak Thai and if you have a work permit, you can ask for a discount, and you will mostly likely be given one.

I’m not sure if there is such thing like Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina here, but that day, I accidentally found a local government clinic and I was very pleased with its service and charges. They know that I’m an expat, but they didn’t charge a lot for my feverish gal. If I would to go to a private hospital, the price will at least be triple the price I paid that day.

So, I guess it was my lucky day.

Another School Hunt

I went to a community international school at an institute just now, and it’s the cheapest international school I’ve found so far. It looks small and old, but with the price we are paying, I can’t expect much. They don’t even provide compulsory lunch or tea break, so I have to be very busy packing food for my kids if they are schooling here.

Come to think of it, we might save up on school fee, but pay more on petrol as I need to send lunch every day. It’s about 15 – 20 minutes from my office, on smooth traffic, but this place can be rather congested on peak hours. Sigh….I will be totally stressed out then, and maybe lose some weight even if I don’t buy weight loss pills. LOL! It really looks like I’m going to be very busy if the kids are attending this school.

Since we are going to be here for so long, we really have to consider about money factor when it comes to schooling. Sigh…the schools here are so expensive!

Car Insurance Renewal

I’ve just received a notice about our car insurance, so we have to renew it by next month. How time flies. We are here for more than a year, and even if our business is still quite slow, we are striving fine in this foreign land. So far, I would say that staying in Bangkok is nice, even if the school fee is utterly expensive, which we shall face the financial challenge soon.

But in the mean time, I can see some progress in our business, and at least we don’t have a problem to carry on with out basic necessity and occasionally indulgence. Even if we haven’t made a profit, our kids are still going to private school, we can afford a car and the renewal of our auto insurance, we have a roof above our heads and we are living well. I must say, my hubby is doing great in his financial planning. LOL! I’m more like the spender than the bread maker.

Anyway, I better let my finance minister know about his car insurance today. He has to dig out that amount of money for the payment.

Hope to Get a House in Bangkok

As comparing to Malaysia, I quite like my life in Bangkok, even if I don’t have a lot of friends here. Luckily, I’m in keeping touch with some buddies online and thus I don’t feel too bored. Besides that, I’m quite occupied after office hour, and by the time my kids are put to bed, I only have a little time for myself and hubby before calling it a day. Everyday passes by pretty fast!

Thus, I can foresee myself staying here for a few more years, especially if our business is growing well. I really hope that our company is making money this year, if not break even again instead of losing money! We really need to company to make a profit to ensure our visa stay in Bangkok.

On top of that, we can’t buy landed property on our names, as foreigners are only entitled to buy condominiums. Staying in condo is not my ideal kind of lifestyle, and I hope to get a house in a gated community, like the one we are staying now. Thus, we can only buy a house as company’s asset and if we are not making a profit, it’s impossible for us to own our own home here.

We went to a few housing areas the other day, and found a nice one not too far from our current area. Nonetheless, I will need the help of a Moving Company to move our stuffs, considering that we have bought so much over the year! Time really flies and it was only a year ago that we shifted here as a family, and we only brought along 12 carton boxes! LOL!

But now, we have everything we need in our home, but the only thing is, we do not own the house. I would surely hope that we can get our own house in a few years. A decent bungalow in a well gated community is truly costly!

A Year in Bangkok

My car insurance is expiring soon. I can’t believe that we have been here for almost a year. I might need some free insurance quotes for my car soon! LOL!

It’s seems like yesterday, when we made the big move to move over to Bangkok and start a new life and business here. I would say, things are pretty slow, and we haven’t made a profit yet. But we are surviving, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we will make a few good deals in the coming months.

I know that the economy is getting worse, but we should keep on trying. Giving up is the last thing in my mind now, and I really hope that we will make it!

Situation in Bangkok Now

It seems like the political scene in Bangkok is going down the drain again. There are demonstration lately, it’s getting bad. I really don’t understand why the people of Thailand have to act like this, no matter who’s the Prime Minister, the opposition party will surely protest. They are really ruin their country’s image further when the economy is already so bad.

Tourism will suffer soon, and you don’t need Stimerex ES to burn down the country’s financial situation. How stupid huh?
