Most of my friends are using WordPress and I haven’t tried other platforms for my domains other than WordPress. I thought it was hard at first considering that I started out with Blogspot, but after some time, it’s not as hard as I thought. Besides that, there are lots of plugins which can be used to make things easier for blogging, so I enjoy using WordPress now.

So, who’s going to the party? Will anyone dress like babydolls there? LOL! I still have my red WordPress T-shirt hidden somewhere in my closet, but I’m not sure if it’s in Ipoh or Bangkok now. That’s something to be worn to WordPress birthday party huh?

This post includes lots of links leading to wordpress templates and I haven’t been to some of them. Hopefully, I will find some nice theme for my knitting blog. I really need something that bring out the niche.

But if you have the time for it, go through the full list. I was lost somewhere at plugins no 10. LOL! Besides that, don’t miss out these WordPress plugins that will bring you more traffic as well.

Finally, after waiting for more than a week, the WordPress T-shirts that I ordered had arrived. I’m not taking that many T-shirts, 3 of them are for Samm, Doris and 5xmom. All of us ordered together to save up the shipping fees.

Of course, I unwrapped mine and checked if the size fit me or not. Oh no! Size M is a bit too loose for me. But never mind, I love the color and this is a lansi piece of T-shirt showing my support of WordPress. I used to curse it because I got used to using New Blogger. However, I prefer WordPress now I had it installed on all my 7 sites. Who doesn’t like WordPress, raise up your hands? See, I can’t see anyone. LOL!

Ok, if you haven’t got yours, go get them now. I look so good in mine.

Gee, I’m really cracking my head now. But let me try a few more hours on this and I will update about the progress.

No postie with No Follow tag

Frankly, I have no idea what it is last time. Most of us will still be posting and as long as we don’t get rejects, we think that we have DO FOLLOW codes. No, it doesn’t work that way. You need to install a Do Follow plugin and enable it. This will work for WordPress. But for New Bloggers, you need to modify your Blogger template.

If you have No Follow and I do, when I leave a comment on your site, you get a link on SEO. But I didn’t get any. So, if you have Do Follow, anyone who leaves a comment at your site will get a linky love back. Won’t that be great? Why so selfish woh? Go install the code!

When I first started my own domain, I kept asking my webhost tonnes of questions because I had no idea how to use it! It took me a long while the get the hang of WP and now I try not to alter too much. As long as the blog is working well, I’ll just leave it there.

However, I’m eager to try out the latest WordPress 2.2 because:

• WordPress Widgets allow you to easily rearrange and customize areas of your weblog (usually sidebars) with drag-and-drop simplicity. This functionality was originally available as a plugin Widgets are now included by default in the core code, significantly cleaned up, and enabled for the default themes.
• Full Atom support, including updating our Atom feeds to use the 1.0 standard spec and including an implementation of the Atom Publishing API to complement our XML-RPC interface.
• A new Blogger importer that is able to handle the latest version of Google’s Blogger product and seamlessly import posts and comments without any user interaction beyond entering your login.
• Infinite comment stream, meaning that on your Edit Comments page when you delete or spam a comment using the AJAX links under each comment it will bring in another comment in the background so you always have 20 items on the page. (I know it sounds geeky, but try it!)
• We now protect you from activating a plugin or editing a file that will break your blog.
• Core plugin and filter speed optimizations should make everything feel a bit more snappy and lighter on your server.
• We’ve added a hook for WYSIWYG support in a future version of Safari.

So, I’ve emailed my webhost and see how fast can he upgrade all my sites. Then I will know if it’s more user-friendly than I thought. But he told me that the new version may not be suitable for all my templates, so I better stick to the older one and see how it goes.

Of course, I have a few good blogger friends whom I can ask for tips, and most of the time, I will also SOS my webhost if I did something wrong and my blog was gone. LOL!

I have just installed a few plugins just now, forwarded to my by Msau. The first one is Advanced WYSIWYG Editor which I can use for text editing. I’m not good at using codes, but I like to add some colours to the fonts, so this plugin will come in handy.

Then, I had to edit my WordPress editor with this tip, but I still can’t see the difference now. Hopefully, I will have my post window back to normal in a few days.

On top of that, I had a few posts rejected because I didn’t meet the minimum word count requirement. I never really count the number of words in my post, as I am too lazy to do so. With Word Statistics Plugin, I don’t have to crack my head over the number of words as they will be shown when I’m typing the post. Just as simple as that!

Ok, let me go search for more plugins as most of my blogs are really “virgin” and not equipped with useful plugins.

I tried to create a theme from this WordPress Theme Generator, just for the fun of it. It’s really user-friendly to a computer idiot like me, but I have no idea who to upload the header or stuffs like that. Maybe I need to download it and customize it later. Well, I don’t know yet. I’m still playing with it! What to do? It’s the weekend. Not much opps to be chasing after, so I’m having a relaxing blogging moments, just saja saja blog or blog hop.
