Rants of life

Life in a foreign land

Year 2012

How’s about New Year celebration? We had a good time being away even if there is some small hiccup. Dad fell sick after the trip. :( Anyway, it’s not something serious and he is doing better now.

I’m back to my Network Administrator Jobs and will be very busy chauffeuring the kids to school soon. Life will soon be back to normal and busy!

Our new place is nice even if it’s not completely renovated yet! It’s taking so long, I just wish that it will be over soon and we can finally call it home.

Eyelashes

I’ve almost envy those with long, full and curvy eyelashes. They don’t even need mascara to look pretty! My eyelashes are pretty scarce, just like a typical Chinese. I’ve gone through some eyelash growth product reviews and I’ve tried a few. I can’t say that they don’t work but few can show me any significant result.

So, the only way would be getting myself a lash extension, but it might pull off my real lashes when falling off. So, there is no win win situation here!

Hospital visit

I went to the hospital a couple of days ago and it’s not as crowded as it used to be. It was flooded before but it’s all cleaned up now. However, there are a lot of papers and hospital computer carts at the basement parking lot which are yet to be disposed.

I hope that it’s not some important health records of critical patients as most of the records are computerized these days.

stress and busy!

We have been so busy with condo renovation lately, and totally stressed with the biz and cash flow. By losing most of our stuffs in the flood, we might need some time to recover financially and mentally. I can’t buy gold bullion from Golden Eagle any sooner nor going on a holiday spree. :(

I very disappointed with lots of things right now, and my work is not helping either. I’m totally stretched and have been so busy until I don’t have time for lunch for 2 days already. Argh…

Buy no Buy?

I wonder if I should buy more cheap sunglasses sold at the stalls or get a pair of expensive designer sunglasses instead? I haven’t been shopping for a month, especially since the flood and got used to living out of suitcases. Everything is minimal for us now.

Frankly, I would rather spend money on getting our condo ready, and replacing those things we have lost in the flood than buying a pair of sunglasses!

So I guess I won’t be getting one after all.

Dressing my dog for the Halloween parade

Guest post written by Rachel Wyatt

My town has a little Halloween parade every where that anyone and everyone can walk in, so I thought that this year I would take along our dog and dress him up for the occasion too. Up until now I had never tried to put him in a costume because I just assumed that he would really hate it. But once I got the idea to make him march in the Halloween parade, I decided that I would follow through with it and get him to wear a costume.

I went online to see if I could find a dog costume for him that wouldn’t feel too restrictive. When I was doing that, I ran across some internet providers in my area and after that I decided to change over my internet service to one of those providers.

I found a cute little dog costume that was of a little wizard, so I decided to go with that. My son dressed up as Harry Potter, so we just said that the dog was Dumbledore. Everyone in the parade gave him lots of compliments.

No special gift

I love to give presents to my loved ones, especially my kids. I will spend some time thinking it over which gifts will bring them joy and fun, and which will be educational toys. But I haven’t received a nice present from hubby, which is really what I want. :( I don’t think he will even use the Personal Creations free shipping code if he knows about them!

I guess I just have to live with it!

Stay at home mom

The only job I have these days are washing and Cooking Jobs, and babysitting. Gosh, I’m back to being a stay-at-home mom again! I can’t do much work when my kids are around, especially since they are so bored with limited toys, books and things to do at the condo.

I wish that the water will subside faster and we will be back to our normal lives again soon.

Evacuation

I saw the evacuation update on twitter and decided to move away from our house. Of course, right now I know that it’s a false alarm but I don’t regret moving out from our mooban. It’s best to stay safe instead of trying to escape when it’s too late.

I didn’t sleep well last night. No amount of body pillows can give me a peaceful night of sleep as my kids had been kicking me!!! Furthermore, I was very worried.

Please pray for Thailand.

Chargers

Should I get aa rechargeable batteries? I really wonder. We hardly use a lot of batteries these days, except for remote controls and clocks. Have the world changed? :P

But we have more chargers at home then before. We have just packed our stuffs and I can’t believe that we have so many charges for so many gadgets!

I shall check all of the chargers and see if they are all needed. I think we have lost some of the gadgets over time. Like an old gameboy? :P
