Shoppingmum’s Office Life

I know that it’s predicted that the economy is getting worse, but then, I still see people shopping and spending money like crazy during the recent sales. Maybe they are spending with credit cards so they hardly feel the pain until they receive the monthly statement. I know someone who lives lavishly, but owns the banks a lot of money because she uses too much of her platinum cards.

Nonetheless, she claims that she has lots of cash lately, even if she’s not employed. She might make some money from her online business, or she gets lucky with online casino. I’m not surprising to see her betting online as she yearns for fast money that comes easily. Of course, it needs more than luck to win the bets, so maybe she reads a lot of casino tips too. Since she doesn’t want to reveal much about the money, I won’t be asking further.

It’s her personal choice and if she thinks she is doing well, I won’t give my personal opinion. For a person who lives in moderation like me, I don’t have much luck when it comes to gambling. I can’t even win a lucky draw, so I don’t think I should waste my time on casinos. But then, some people really have money luck. Aren’t they lucky? Of course, I hope that they will not losing their bets!

 My friends know that I shop a lot in Bangkok, but they are suggesting that I set up a webstore selling the things I can easily get in Bangkok. Bangkok is surely a shopping heaven, if you know where to get cheap stuffs that don’t compromise their quality. I bought lots of clothes for my kids lately, and some of my friends are interested to get them too.

I think it will take more than just clothes to set up a store as I need to consider the amount of time I have for managing an online business. I might be able to get goods like Votive candle holders, bags, home decors and etc easily in Bangkok, but I am not sure if I can turn them into a profitable biz.

Nothing is planned at this stage, but let’s see if I’m committed to set up a new biz here.

It’s the last quarter of the year and business is slowing getting better. We have just started for a few months, so I’m glad to see some improvement now. It’s still a long way to go before we can hit our target, but at least it’s progressing despite the economy recession lately. It was rather slow initially, but lately we have been getting more calls and request about our products.

At the same time, I realized that we have been here for about 5 months, and the weather changes again. We won’t need an electric blanket here in Bangkok, but it’s getting windy and rainy. I really hope that our business will grow well and if we make some money, we might be able to arrange for a trip up north. I haven’t been to the northern of Thailand, and I’m surely hope to visit Chiang Mai if possible. So, let’s pray that the business is growing smoothly, and our customers pay us promptly on time!

I wonder if I should try blackhat SEO as some bloggers are doing so and they are making money. The risk is there, and you might be banned by Google if the god finds out. That’s why some bloggers have multiple Paypal and emails accounts to avoid being caught. Can’t put all the eggs in the same basket huh?

But there is a lot of work and softwares to pay for. Frankly, I’m just too lazy. I keep telling myself that I don’t need to earn that much, so why should I bother to work so hard earning online? Not to mention, I will lose my sleep and look dreadful like I used to be during my blogging frenzy days. I lost weight without alli weight loss products, made some money and I couldn’t give my kids and hubby my usual self. So, what’s the point?

I’m not the one who needs to bring bread and butter home or pay for anything else. I still have a “generous” hubby who pays for my spending, so I guess I can let go of blackhats for now.

 I have always liked the end of any months. Why? It’s because there are sales everywhere in Bangkok! Furthermore, my SIL has taken her salary, and it’s time both of us leave our computer desks and go shopping together! I don’t have a monthly salary as I’m not an official employee. I’m just the si tao poh dropping by the office to help hubby out, if needed. If not, I can just blog and go out whenever I want.

But of course, if hubby needs to do some paperwork, I better get it done as he pays for my shopping spree. LOL! I can’t ignore his instruction, right?

We are using 3 shoplots now, so it’s quite spacious for the business for the time being. However, we don’t have our own parking space and all of us can only park our cars in front of our shoplots. We can’t cross over to other lots as the other business owners don’t allow it.

Everyday, we have to do jigsaw puzzle by moving the cars around if one of the car being stuck at the very front end wants to go out. I really hate it when I’m in the rush of going out and I will have to make phone calls to other car owners involved. Gee…so troublesome.

SIL and I joked that we should get our own office space with spacious parking lots soon. Then, we will hire the moving services to move everything to the new place and start working on our own office building! But then, before any of these can come true, we better make more money first!

I should be jumping happily in my MBT shoes now, if I have any. LOL! My company’s website is launched, and hopefully it’s easier for our potential customers to find our products and services.

I take a lot of coffee at the office because I’m totally sleepy by certain time of the day. I can just drink some green tea fat burner but nothing works better than a nice cup of hot coffee. Of course, I would prefer to have some latte but it’s not available.

I guess I will die of diabetes if I don’t watch my sugar intake. I don’t like black coffee. It’s bitter and miserable. Some bitter sweet is the best to me. Gee…talking about that, it’s time to make my 3rd cup of coffee today.

 BIL travels to China a lot and he likes to buy those cheap stuffs from China. On his previous trip, he bought one of those cheap ipods and boasted about how much he’s saved on buying it. But I almost ROTFLOAO when the iPod only functioned well for a week. LOL! How can he possible bought something like that in China? LOL!

Frankly, I don’t go for cheap stuffs, if I can afford to go for the original.

 I’m rather surprised that our office staffs do not have annual leave, but only public holidays and medical leave. I decided to run a different system on our sales executive since we have different management here. What really surprises me is the staffs are happy with the arrangement and they enjoy coming to work every working day. O.0

I suspected that one of them might have Herpes Zoster Infection and she’s not fit to work. She should just see a doctor and get some medical leave, or just stay at home on annual leave, if she has any! However, she’s still here at work for the past few days. BIL is so lucky to have employed such dedicated and hardworking staffs.
